FAQ
Answers to common questions about building maps in the editor. For step-by-step fixes to specific problems, see Troubleshooting.
What is the difference between a draft and a published map?
The editor always works on a draft — a collaborative working copy. Your visitors see the published version. Changes you make stay in the draft until you publish them. See Publish.
Why don’t my visitors see my latest changes?
Edits live in the draft until you publish. Click Publish in the header, review the preview of pending changes, and confirm. The first publish of a new draft also creates the live venue. See Publish & embed your map.
How do I work with more than one floor?
A venue is organized into stacked floors, and the editor shows one floor at a time. Switch floors from the Floors strip at the top of the Layers panel. Each floor holds its own structures and routing. See Floors and Add a floor.
I drew a structure — where did the label and door come from?
Drawing a structure also creates its map-suite label and a door automatically. The structure’s id links the three together. See Structures and How map suites work.
Why is a suite’s handle dot red instead of green?
The dot color shows whether the suite has an activated location. Green means it has one and its title or label renders on the map; red means no location is associated yet, so no label content shows. See Green vs red legend.
Why does the routing tool say there is no routing layer?
Routing needs a routing layer on the floor you are editing. Create one for that floor first, and make sure a floor is selected. See How the routing layer works and Create a route.
Can I add my own 3D models?
Yes. Open the 3D Custom Objects group in the Layers panel and add a .glb or .gltf model up
to 50 MB. The object is placed at the venue center and rendered in the 3D view. Adding a 3D object
requires a published venue, so publish the draft first. See Upload a custom 3D object.
How do I embed my map on a website?
Publish the map first, then open your dashboard, find the published venue’s card, and click Share Map. Copy the direct link or the iframe snippet under Web / Mobile. Share Map appears only on published venue cards. See Publish & embed your map.
Can other people edit the same map at the same time?
Yes. The editor is collaborative — edits sync to everyone in the room in real time. Undo and redo
are per-user, so Ctrl/Cmd + Z only reverts your own changes, not a collaborator’s. See Keyboard shortcuts.
